GVT - Group of Logistics

History

Bros. Versteijnen Transport was founded in 1957 by Mr. J.A.G and Mr. W.G.M. Versteijnen. Over recent decades the company has evolved dramatically. The eighties and nineties in particular saw far-reaching professionalisation. In the last generation GVT has grown into an all-round service provider with a multimodal and sustainable character. By now GVT always offers an appropriate and reliable solution to a wide range of (complex) transportation and logistical issues.

Road, water and rail

With the erection of the Barge Terminal Tilburg (BTT) in 1998 and the Rail Terminal Tilburg (RTT) in 2005 GVT's focus rests on a diversity of transportation means: freight transport by road, water and rail. An excellent hinterland connection has arisen out of Rotterdam's sea port by train and inland waterway that will further expand in the future. GVT has been affiliated with Huisman Logistiek in Veendam since 2005 for Benelux distribution.

GVT's growth is still on the rise. At present the company employs 325 FTEs and operates around 150 operating vehicles on the road daily. Moreover, there are five inland waterway ships and several trains in transit every day. GVT's warehouse storage capacity totals more than 75,000 square metres. Expansion of rail and inland waterway transportation is planned in the near future. As well as a new terminal at the Vossenberg industrial estate, we are also working on the development of Railport Brabant on the Loven industrial estate, where a rail terminal will connect to the Dutch and international networks.
